Charging and Remissions

Charging Policy

Milk – a small charge is made each year to allow all pupils to have milk each day. The cost of the milk is heavily subsidised by school. Milk money is collected at the beginning of the new school year.

School Meals - Dinner money is collected on a Monday morning. Only Key stage 2 pupils pay for their meals. Please send dinner money in an envelope that is clearly marked with your child’s name and class. Cheques should be made payable to Leeds City Council and have your cheque card number on the back. Please keep dinner money separate from money sent to school for any other purpose. If you have any queries regarding school meals please contact the school office (info@greenhill.leeds.sch.uk). The menus for school meals are published on the school website and are available from the school office. Each child makes their choice from five options during morning registration. One day a week a roast dinner is served and children who usually have a packed lunch are welcome to have a school dinner on that day. Please order and pay for your meal on Monday, as this helps the catering staff to know the quantities that they need to prepare.

Trips – The majority of school trips are subsidised by the school. Parents are asked to make a contribution towards the cost. Unfortunately, if there are insufficient contributions a visit may have to be cancelled. School endeavours to give parents reasonable notice of the trips planned and the charges involved.

Residential Visits – In Key stage two there will be an opportunity for your child to participate in an outdoor pursuits residential visit, spending one or two nights away from home.

Clubs – Many clubs are run each year free of charge. They include choir, sport, art, drama or learning to play a musical instrument. Sometimes a charge will apply if school is hosting an activity run by another organisation or to help towards the cost of materials used.

Concerts and Productions – A small charge is made for tickets to our annual productions. The funds raised go towards new costumes, licenses and play scripts.
