Multiplication and Division

Multiplication and Division are the more complex relations of Addition and Subtraction. Key to understanding the concepts is a fluency with times tables. Children will have come out of Year 2 with an understanding of the 2,5 & 10 times tables - however, it is still good to practise these as facts can become 'unstuck' if not refreshed. In Year 3 we concentrate on the 3,4 & 8 times tables, although there is nothing stopping you from trying some of the others! Division is the 'inverse' of multiplication and to really know a multiplication table you need to know the division facts that stem from it. Plenty of counting practise (10's, 2's, 3's etc) and log onto TTRockstars to get those tables nailed!
