Statement:

Tells us something we don’t know.

Example:

I can see it now.

Hogarth ran home.

It was a surprise.

Question:

Needs to have an answer.

Example:

Can you see it yet?

An Iron Man?

Is it a surprise?

Exclamation:

Shocked or surprised.

Sometimes starts with How or What.

Example:

I can see it!

An Iron Man!

What a surprise!

Command:

Doesn’t give us a choice. It must be done.

Example:

Look at it now.

Look at the Iron Man.

Look surprised.
